Data Engineer (f/m/d)

We are the Thomann Web Team. We work at 5 locations and run one of the largest online shops in Europe. Our almost 15 million Thomann customers worldwide can expect a unique and inspiring e-commerce experience. We are a small family of 40 developers, product owners, designers and testers and together we develop thomann.de and the Thomann app. Part of our network are the Operations Team in Erlangen and the Data Team in Coburg in Germany.

We are looking for a Data Engineer (f/m/d) to work at our offices in Treppendorf, Erlangen, Berlin or remote.

• Being a driving force within our cloud based data warehouse, which is the backbone for all our data products, analytical teams and machine learning activities.
• Understanding business needs, identifying the right data sources, developing scalable and reliable data pipelines to ensure a smooth process.
• Participating in architectural planning for our current and upcoming data challenges on a technical level.
• Helping to move our legacy database procedures into a state of the art cloud infrastructure.
• Facilitating and initiating topics like data literacy, governance and privacy.

Skills you should have

• 2+ years of hands-on data engineering experience and the ability to write efficient, well-tested and maintainable code with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Experience of cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS or Azure
• Proven programming skills with Python and SQL.
• Experience with scheduling tools such as Airflow, Jenkins, Kafka or similar.
• Version control code using Git, Github or Gitlab.
• Solid interpersonal skills, experience collaborating with non-technical partners.
